Message Board Rules

1. No vulgar language or profanity - This includes inappropriate words, inappropriate sexual references and other vulgar statements.  ezboard employs an automated profanity filter which attempts to catch foul language and disguise these words in various ways.   However, some visitors find new & inventive ways to swear.  Foul & inappropriate language is removed as soon as we find it, and folks who post bad language can be banned from the site.   If you run across them first, report it ASAP to the web address above and it will be investigated ASAP.
2. No threatening, abusive or harassing comments.   Be kind to others.  Please don't forget that you are talking to living feeling human beings on these boards!  The internet can be dehumanizing and you may be tempted to say things on the board that you would never say to someone's face.
3. No slanderous or libelous posts - Knowingly making false claims about a company, organization or an individual are prohibited.
4. While we encourage lively debate, we will not tolerate personal attacks.  Any person attacking another visitor will receive a warning and have their message removed.  Any future incident thereafter will result in that member being removed from the forum.  Harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing communications - including those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, national origin, or disability will absolutely not be tolerated. Recent abusive behavior has made it necessary to require registration in order to post. If you have not already registered a global account with ezboard, you will need to do so (and be approved) before you can post. If you already have a global account, you should not experience any problems. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
5. Do not engage in "flame-wars" or excessive exchange of confrontational postings.  Debate is important, but users should not try to "pick a digital fight." Also, try to avoid straying too far off-topic. Remember that the purpose of this board is to discuss and support Butler Basketball and Butler athletics in general. To that end, posters who are overly negative and/or who actively seek to cause trouble will be given considerably less leeway when it comes to these rules.
6. No advertising or product marketing - No commercial ads allowed.  An advertisement is categorized as an outright attempt to solicit business. Any such posts may be removed. I get enough of that garbage in my inbox as it is--I don't need it here. I don't care if Brian Evans did use your workout.
7. Linking - Links to personal or business webpages is permitted as long as the message is not a direct advertisement.   The posting of copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected material is strictly prohibited. If you are going to post an article from a copyrighted online source, please limit it to just a few lines, followed by a link to the source.
8. No spamming - Do not post the same message repeatedly.
9. Recruiting - Any post which could be considered harmful to the University's recruiting efforts will be removed.
10. If I am contacted by the athletic department regarding any information posted to the board that they feel is inappropriate and/or should not be made public, it will be removed ASAP. This web site is here to support the basketball program, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that no sensitive information is posted.
11. Forum rules and guidelines are not up for debate.  This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum--my message board, my rules.  Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed. If you don't like it, don't participate.
12. No impostors allowed.   Impersonators will not be tolerated.   Report violations ASAP.
13. Don't give out personal information. Keep your full name, address, telephone numbers, usernames, passwords and other identifying information to yourself, for safety's sake. Don't give out other people's information either.
14. Choose a username carefully.  You may not use names that are offensive, that suggest illegal activities or that are meant to imitate other users.  Any such names will be blocked from posting on our message boards.
15. You participate at your own risk on this message board.  You take responsibility for postings under your username and use the information provided here at your own risk.  The unOfficial Butler Basketball Page takes no responsibility for the content or opinions posted here.
16. Your IP address is logged when you use the message board.  If your messages are deemed harmful, your account, E-mail address, and IP address can be banned from entering the site again.  We reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever.  We reserve the right to remove your access to the forum or disable your posting ability for any or no reason whatsoever.
